Equality
Partners in a relationship are not 2 identical persons. They are not the same, but have equal rights. This means that the limits and choices of each partner are respected.
Single
A single person is someone who is not in a steady relationship. Some people choose to be single. Others are single but would like to be in a steady relationship. Many people are single at some time in their lives.
Relationship with multiple partners
In a relationship with multiple partners, one of the partners is often in a steady relationship, or both have relationships with other people. The relationship with other partners is often about sex (casual sex), but not always.
Casual sex
Casual sex is contact between people for which the main reason is sex. The commitment of the partners is therefore limited. Casual sex can be a one-time encounter or it can take place more often.
Kinds of relationship problems
You can encounter different problems in a relationship. For example:
Jealousy
When you are jealous in your relationship, you are probably scared that you may lose your partner or his/her attention. You may feel insecure.
Your partner may also feel jealous.
Falling in love with someone else
Routine
After a period of intense feelings of being in love, it is normal to feel less excited. You get to know each other better and you get used to your relationship. Being together can then become routine.
Partner violence
Partner violence is any form of violence between 2 people who have an emotional and/or sexual bond (relationship). Partner violence often shows that there is no equality between the partners.
Talking with your partner
Everybody has different expectations and wishes and every relationship is different. However, it is important in every relationship that both partners can express their feelings, wishes and thoughts.
