Situatie waarin dringend actie nodig is. Bijvoorbeeld: wanneer een vrouw geslachtsgmeenschap heeft gehad zonder anticonceptie en niet zwanger wil worden. Ze moet dan zo snel mogelijk de noodpil nemen. Of al eens persoon onbeschermde seks heeft gehad en denkt dat hij of zij hiv heeft opgelopen. Hij of zij moet dan zo snel mogelijk een behandeling met PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) krijgen.

A situation in which urgent action is required. For exampe: if a woman has sexual intercourse without using contraception and does not want to get pregnant, she needs to take an emergency contraceptive pill as soon as possible. Or if a person has unprotected sex and thinks he or she may have caught HIV, then he or she needs to have PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) treatment as soon as possible.
