Zanzu.be in individual discussions

  1. A tailor-made, online brochure in their own language
The print function on zanzu.be lets you print pages from the website in a special lay-out version where all of the unnecessary text and lay-out have been omitted. You can save the pages as PDFs by using the print window on your PC or Mac. The print function is located on the taskbar above the text on each page.
  2. Turn your screen around!
More and more care providers are using their computer or tablet during discussions. By turning your screen around, you can look at the information together with your client. You can easily change the language on zanzu.be by selecting a different language in the top-right corner. You can even search for something in Dutch and then change the language to one of 12 other languages.
  3. Let the website speak.
The website has a text-to-speech function (except for Albanian, Bulgarian and Farsi). This means that you can have a page read out for your client. The reader function is located on the taskbar above the text on each page. You can also select part of a text. An icon will then automatically appear which will allow you to have the selected text read out.
  4. A dictionary
The most important terms connected to sexual health have been included in a dictionary. You can have each term and its definition translated and read out. There is a direct link to the glossary on the taskbar above the text on every page and at the bottom of every page.
  5. Make a referral.
Zanzu.be contains an extensive help guide. You can search this guide by theme for organisations, services and persons. The most important useful addresses connected to the relevant subject are included under each article on the site. There is a direct link to the help guide on the taskbar above the text on every page and at the bottom of every page.
  6. For everyone
The website is not just a tool for discussions with non-Dutch speakers. After all, Dutch is also one of the site’s languages. You can also use zanzu.be with young people, whether or not they are non-Dutch speakers.

Zanzu.be in group discussions

  1. Set a task.
Ask participants to search for specific information in small groups. Afterwards they will be able to share the information they have found on the website with the other groups. This is an excellent way of enabling people involved to learn through participation and to start a group discussion.
  2. Give them a hand-out.
During an education session you can give participants hand-outs with background information. You can do this by using the print function on the website. The print function is located on the taskbar above the text on each page.
  3. Create your own PowerPoint presentation.
You can download the diagrams on the website in JPEG format. This lets you easily create your own PowerPoint presentation. (The diagrams cannot be published, for instance on a website or in a brochure, without the permission of Sensoa.)
  4. Show zanzu.be on a projector.
You can show drawings that explain a process, such as the menstrual cycle, as a slideshow.
This will also familiarise participants with the website and the navigation.
  5. Create your own glossary.
You can use the dictionary on zanzu.be as the starting point for your own glossary with terms that you can comfortably use during a discussion or education session. There is a direct link to the glossary on the taskbar above the text on every page and at the bottom of every page.

Zanzu in your organisation

  1. Invite Sensoa to your team meeting!
You can invite a member of staff from Sensoa to your team meeting to demonstrate how the website can be used as a tool for education and individual counselling. This will give you and your colleagues the opportunity to put questions to the creators of the website. Neem contact op met Sensoa via zanzu@sensoa.be.
  2. Share zanzu.be with colleagues.
Stel Zanzu.be aan je collega’s voor aan de hand van de voorstellings-Powerpoint of het promo video.
  3. As a manager, introduce zanzu.be to your organisation.
Introduce zanzu.be to your team using the PowerPoint introduction. People in organisations are often reluctant. Teams that have incorporated sexual health into their education programmes find that it is easier to talk about that they first thought. It is important to get the entire team involved and avoid having one employee as the sole person responsible for sexual health. After all, this is less sustainable and it needlessly turns the topic into a “problem topic”.
  4. Ask Sensoa for help with developing a policy on sexuality.
Sensoa has developed a method and offers training on implementing a policy on sexual health and sexuality within your organisation.
